Morgana Optical - a little pink building, nestled at the base of the Dolomites - houses the 12 people who are responsible for the majority of our production process. The tiny village of Segusino, in the Provice of Treviso, is a short drive from Venice, boasting 2,000 residents and some of the best mountain views in the region. Morgana owner, Ermanno Stramare, prides his factory on being a family business, with both his son and wife working hands-on with frames everyday.
The 24 hands at Morgana are responsible for: cutting acetate, milling the frame front and temples, and tumbling the frames for a week. Every hinge is hand-riveted, each edge hand-sanded, and each frame is hand-polished with wax at Morgana. We are incredibly proud to work with the craftsmen at Morgana, and lucky that we get to visit their beautiful town. Take a look at some photos from our last visit to the factory and lovely Segusino.
